On the 17th of May, 2008 the event devoted to the Day of Europe took place in Donetsk central park of culture and rest named after A. Sherbakov. There was built an informational fair “European city” there.
Public organizations presented the EU projects which are implemented in Donetsk region.
The representatives of the diplomatic corps of Hungary, Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Poland, Sweden, Lithuania, Germany, Great Britain and France offered very interesting information about traditions, culture and people who live in another part of Europe as well as discussed some topics about cooperation between Ukraine and EU countries.
In this day there were held public debates “European integration of Ukraine: prospects and opportunities”
The ambassadors and embassy representatives from the EU countries, city and regional leaders founded “The European avenue of roses”.
Team of EURC “Social partnership” presented the activities and prospects of organization; guest and participants of the informational fair learned about its services and the project “Creation of coordination center for international volunteers’ services in Donetsk” with support of German Fund “Memory, responsibility and future”.
In general, such an event is very useful for local Ngos, which are trying to tell citizens about their activities and achievements and at the same time to recruit volunteers who will be able to contribute to strengthening of civil society.
