In frames of the supported by the German Fund “Memory, Responsibility and Future” project; the public organization German-russian exchange organized for а German student Christiane Niemann volunteer service in Ukraine. In September, 2008 Christiane is coming to Ukrainian organization Eurc”social Partnership” (SPC) which is а resource-informative center for public organizations of Donetsk region and coordination center for volunteer service.
The young volunteer studies sociology and musicology and wants help homeless children. She is also interested in Slavic culture, wishes to meet Ukrainian people and learn more about political situation in East Slavic countries. Moreover, she is found of Russian language and hopes to improve it and speak fluently.
She is going to work in Donetsk organization once а week. Christiane will assist Spc’s team to carry out presentations among students, participate in Volunteer club organization as well as design youth projects.
But as Christiane likes children, the most part of her working time she will spend in Makeevka youth organization “Martin Club”. The team of “Martin Club” founded “Children village”, short term shelter for street children, where they have an opportunity to return to normal life, get food and clothes and the most important – kind attitude and attention from the adults. Now there are 8 girls in the “Children village” and Christiane will help them to adopt into the society by means of different activities, games and just friendly relations.
